From August 23 to November 18, NIU Museum Rotunda Gallery hosted the exhibit “From Tradition to Modernity: Art from Myanmar as Viewed by Contemporary Burmese Artists”. In parallel from September 1 to October 27, NIU’s Olson Gallery hosted the exhibit “Painting Myanmar Today: A Selection from the Thukhuma Collection”. These exhibitions were offered in conjunction with the International Burma Studies Conference at NIU, October 6-9, 2016, and were part of “Kaleidoscope of Burmese Art”, celebrating the 30th Anniversary of the Center for Burma Studies.
